About Dr. Khosrow Matini

The Rejuvenation Center for Plastic Surgery is defined by experience and expertise, and Dr. Khosrow Matini brings a wealth of both to every surgery he performs.

As well as being the founder and director of the Rejuvenation Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Matini is the Chief of Plastic Surgery and the Chairman of Surgical Care Review Committee at INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital, where he also served as the President of Medical Staff between 2000 and 2002. He was the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital between 1989 and 1990. Dr. Matini also holds privileges as an active member of the Department of Surgery at INOVA Alexandria Hospital and is a courtesy member of INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Matini obtained his medical degree with distinction from the Meshed University School of Medicine in 1966, followed by an internship at Providence Hospital in Washington DC. After completing four years of general surgical training at Jewish Hospital Medical Center of New York and the University of Louisville, he obtained a fellowship on hand surgery at the latter. Dr. Matini then completed two years of residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at George Washington University, where he then went on to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (1976-1978) before entering private practice in Virginia.

Dr. Matini is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery – the only board for plastic surgery recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Dr. Matini served as the President of Alexandria Medical Society between 1996 and 1997, and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Capital Society of Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Virginia Medical Society.

Dr. Matini has been practicing in the local community for over 30 years, performing thousands of operations and is a leading authority on breast surgery, body contouring, and aesthetic facial surgery. He is also a leading authority in body contouring after major weight loss following bariatric surgery.
